Celebrate The 100th Anniversary Of Mother’s Day With Your Mom!

Did you know that Mother's Day turns 100 this year?

Thanks to West Virginian Anna Jarvis' love for her own mother (and some vigorous campaigning by Anna), Mother's Day was declared a national holiday in 1914.

With such an historic Mother's Day just around the corner, why not plan a legendary day for your Mom?

After a morning spent on the beach soaking up the warm sun and watching pelicans and gulls dip and dive for food, take Mom on a lunch break. Head over to one of the restaurants overlooking Lake Broadway where, together, you can relax on a deck, enjoy the soft breeze coming off the lake, and share a laugh about the antics of the ducks waddling along the lake banks.

After lunch, indulge Mom's fondness for shopping with visits to unique shops like Bijuju and Heartfire. Watch her smile as she discovers the latest styles in handbags, sorts through fascinating accessories, and examines some eye-catching jewelry.

Spice up your day together with a little outdoor competition playing mini-golf at Dragon's Lair Fantasy Golf. Or move indoors to Carmike Cinema — Broadway 17 and catch that chick-flick she's been wanting to see.

And what would a Mother's Day be without a family photo to commemorate the big day? Make this year's snapshot as memorable as your day together with a photo by Old Tyme Portraits By Treadway. Outfitted in costumes from days gone by, you'll get a shot she'll enjoy forever!

Don't let the 100th anniversary of Mother's Day go by without honoring Mom in a special way this year. Give her the gift of time with you at Broadway at the Beach, and make Mother's Day memories that she'll keep in her heart forever!
