Big Changes Are Coming To Broadway!

Posted in Broadway at the Beach, Featured Posts

When it opened in 1995, Broadway at the Beach brought a new kind of shopping, dining and entertainment experience to the Carolina coast. Modeled after some of the nation's best entertainment districts at that time, it rapidly became a popular gathering place for locals, and soon was attracting 14 million tourists a year. Today, it's the number one tourist destination in all of South Carolina.

After 20 years, Broadway is getting a facelift. Just this week, our parent company, Burroughs & Chapin, pulled back the curtain to reveal the first step of a planned multiyear transformation of Broadway. First up: our entertainment and nightlife section which is currently known as Celebrity Square.

Our newly-designed entertainment area will have a mix of great national brands, up-and-coming concepts, and favorites that appeal to the whole family. Everything, including our common areas, will reflect a new overall theme.

Here are some of the exciting things we have coming up:

Dave & Buster's recently signed a lease with Burroughs & Chapin to add a Dave & Buster's location at Broadway at the Beach. Known as the only place where you can eat, drink, play, and watch sports, Dave & Buster’s is all about entertaining the guest, delivering the latest and greatest games, ultimate sports viewing, and extraordinary food and drinks.

Hard Rock Café Myrtle Beach is moving to an interior, corner location that will be the new entryway to our redesigned entertainment and nightlife area. In its new location, Hard Rock will be able to seat 528 guests, feature private event space, patio seating, and a live music stage. Music memorabilia from new and legendary artists will still be on display and the Rock Shop will be loaded with souvenir goodies.

The operators of Wicked Tuna in Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Enso Asian Bar & Sushi in Charlotte, N.C., are opening a new culinary and craft beer experience — American Tap House. This will be a chef-driven American gastropub dedicated to the art of fine food and beer. Look for it to have 40 regional and local American craft beers on tap, as well as unique craft food inspired by American comfort food with a southern twist.

Celebrations Nitelife is introducing a new nightlife experience unlike any other in the area. OZ is set to open this spring, and each night, it will have a different themed look, feel and design. You'll see it transform right before your eyes. One time you'll be looking at the lights of Paris and the next, the rings of Saturn. Expect it to be a true out-of-this-world experience.

But what about some other favorites? Broadway Louie's, also part of Celebrations Nitelife, recently moved to a new corner location near the comedy club. Stop by to enjoy its new full-food menu and outside patio bar. The award-winning Broadway Jake's All Star Karaoke is still going strong each night.

As for Malibu's Surf Bar, Crocodile Rocks, Original Shucker's Raw Bar and Carolina Comedy Club — you'll still be able to find them where they've always been!

Changes are just beginning for Broadway. So stop by and check them out!

Celebrate 50 Years Of The Big Game At Broadway

The Big Game is less than two weeks away. When the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos face off in Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on February 7, do your plans include relaxing somewhere with hi-def TV, good food and cold drinks?

If you're not going to fly out to the San Francisco Bay area to see the game, why not watch the festivities with your pals at Chuck & Duck's Sports Grill? The fun begins way before the scheduled 6:30 p.m. kickoff. Much of the day will be filled with opportunities to watch pre-game shows, highlights of the 2015 season, analyses of teams and players, and speculation about whether the much-favored Panthers can pull off their first Big Game win.

For the best seats, make sure you're settled in at Chuck & Duck's at least an hour or two before kick-off. Then sit back and enjoy the 50-inch TVs, jumbo screen, and the company of excited fans pumped for the game. On that super Sunday, Chuck & Duck's will have special prices on wings, sliders, mozzarella sticks and loaded fries, while drafts of domestic beer will be $2 and bottles of domestic beer will be just $2.25. Call 843-232-7084 for more info.

Hard Rock Cafe is where many families will be heading to celebrate that Sunday. So gather up your kids and grab a table at the Rock n' Bowl, a kind of birthday bash for the Big Game that turns 50 this year. The game will be showing on all 12 hi-def TVs in the pyramid and also on a 10 x 14 jumbo screen.

There will be food and drink specials; free appetizers at half time; and a drawing for a door prize will be held after every quarter. Reservations are recommended if you want to get a “sideline” seat in front of the jumbo screen. Call 843-946-0007 for more info.

Other Broadway restaurants will also be open on that Sunday and many will be offering daily specials that can satisfy just about any craving you might have for seafood, a juicy steak or something exotic. And, you can bet that every one of them will be showing the Big Game on TV.

So, when you're ready for some football, head to Broadway at the Beach!

Celebrate National Soup Month With Some Of Broadway's Best Soups

Posted in Broadway at the Beach, Featured Posts, Dining

When there's a chill in the air, there's nothing better than a hot bowl of soup. That's probably why America's first chilly month of each year is designated as National Soup Month.

At Broadway at the Beach, our restaurants have added their own unique twists to popular varieties of this piping hot food, and many even create and serve a different soup each day. Stop in and discover rich chowders, chunky soups, zesty gumbos, and thick beef and bean stews flavored with red chilies.

At Landry'sSeafood, your taste buds will be tingling with the exciting flavor of spicy gumbo filled with seafood and andouille sausage. Love bacon? Then you'll want to taste Landry's version of New England-style Clam Chowder, because it's laced with bacon. Order up a bowl of she-crab soup, and you'll be enthralled by Landry's classic recipe with its subtle flavors.

Head over to Joe's Crab Shack if you're a fan of the traditional approach to rich and creamy New England Clam Chowder. This big bowl of hearty will stick to your ribs.

The queen of all seafood cuisine, she-crab soup, can also be found at Key West Grill, where they also have an awesome Cuban-inspired black bean soup with sour cream and corn tortillas on the menu. But this restaurant is best known for its signature spiced Key West Conch Chowder. Don't miss it!

For many of us, chili is the comfort food we like the best when the weather turns cold. Chili lovers can get their fix at Johnny Rocketswhere the all-meat chili is as big a hit as the rock 'n roll tunes playing on the jukebox. Or head over to Liberty Brewery & Grillwhere big bowls of this Southwestern-inspired stew are served with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.

From hot and spicy to traditional favorites, you can enjoy them all at Broadway at the Beach.

Enjoy The Ultimate Girls Night Out: Menopause The Musical®

This month, Legends In Concert Theater will be shedding a humorous light on the challenges faced by women dealing with “The Change.”

For seven matinee and evening performances from January 20 through 24, “Menopause The Musical®” will be playing at Broadway at the Beach's Legends In Concert Theater. For years, we've been laughing about it in private with friends. Now there's an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful cast celebrating women “on the brink of, in the middle of, or [who] have survived” the “big M.”

The play has been running nationally and internationally — including off-Broadway — for more than fourteen years. It's 90 minutes of laughter and toe-tapping parodies of classic hits from the 60's, 70's and 80's. Join the cast as they shop for lingerie in a department store and commiserate about the “gifts” that menopause brings. Delivered with gusto, their songs reflect the challenges of hot flashes, loss of memory, nocturnal sweats, fatigue and more. From “Change, Change, Change” to “Stayin Awake/Night Sweatin'” to “Puff, My God I'm Draggin',” you'll be laughing out loud.

The longest-running scripted production in Las Vegas,"Menopause The Musical” is only playing a limited engagement at Broadway at the Beach. Why not get a group of friends together and head to Legends In Concert Theater for the ultimate girls' night out? Group discounts for parties of 10 or more are available.

You'll all be laughing out loud at this joyous celebration of the commonalities all women face as they sail through the choppy waters of middle age.

The Holidays Are Over - It's Time To Spoil Yourself

For many of us, the holidays are a whirlwind of activity. From hosting parties, to cooking lavish meals, to taking down and storing decorations, there's hardly time to relax during this busy time of year. So, by the time January rolls around, we're tired and yearning for an opportunity to rejuvenate ourselves.

If you've been dreaming of luxuriating at a world-class spa, but find that's just a little outside your budget right after the holidays, don't give up hope.

It's possible to experience the triple treats of aromatherapy, moisture-rich skin softening and muscle relaxation at home for a fraction of the cost of that spa visit.

Today there are affordable — and yet extraordinary — soaps and lotions that can carry you and your imagination to a land of worry-free, no-stress pampering. And, you don't even have to leave your home.

The recipe for a heavenly spa experience is easy. Take one bath bomb — a hard-packed mixture of ingredients that fizz and bubble as they release their essential oils and lovely scents into the surrounding water and air. Add it to a tub of warm bathwater and surrender to the cozy water and soothing fragrances drifting around you. For 30 minutes, relax as the tension leaves your muscles and you let your mind ease.

Prefer a shower over a bath? You can still capture those feelings of rejuvenation and refreshment with a shower bomb. This little sister to the bath bomb delivers lavish, long-lasting aromatherapy benefits. Place it in the bottom of the shower near your feet and organic essential oils and lavish scents ride up on the steam from your shower, creating a unique at-home spa experience.

You can find bath and shower bombs, along with a wide array of soaps, bubble bars, shower gels, shampoos and lotions at Splash, located in the New England Fishing Village East at Broadway at the Beach.

Splash products are uniquely designed to help you create a relaxing atmosphere of all natural spa treatments right in your home. Made from fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, Splash products have no parabens, alcohol, mineral oils or phthalates. At Splash, you'll discover a wide variety of chemical-free soaps crafted in beautiful designs, as well as an exclusive fragrance line of products and specialty items in bath and shower bombs, soy lotion candles, solid moisturizers and more.

The holidays are finally over and a new year lies ahead. Why not resolve to spoil yourself just a little in 2016? Begin a new routine of relaxation, pampering and refreshing yourself today and all year long.
