Eat, Drink & Be Merry At Broadway at the Beach

Que Mariah Carey's All I want for Christmas holiday anthem, it's the holiday season and we are celebrating the most wonderful time of the year at Broadway at the Beach! Even after we've lit our tree and decked our halls (or actually, the bridges over Lake Broadway), there's more holiday themed events to enjoy at our favorite Grand Strand destination.

Whether it's a Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Hard Rock Café, or Lunch with the Grinch at Dave & Buster's or early morning dining with the mermaids of Ripley's Aquarium, you and your family can dine with the friends and foes of the North Pole on different December dates. For families, you can always sit down to a hearty holiday feast at Paula Deen's Family Kitchen with a selection of southern favorites and don't forget that seasonal favorite, pumpkin ooey gooey pumpkin cake! For the couple out on the town for a romantic holiday date, a candlelit dinner of Cajun coastal cuisine can be found at Landry's Seafood, pair that with a glass of wine with dessert or stop by one of our wineries and pick up a bottle for when you're cuddled up with Netflix and chill on those chilly evenings!

In the mood for music… holiday music?

Going on now through December 30th, Legends in Concert is featuring their Ultimate Christmas Spectacular with live music tributes Elvis (Travis Powell), Blues Brothers (Kenny Barett & Dan Meisner), Karen Carpenter (Sally Olson), Alan Jackson (Larry Turner) and Martina McBride (Stacey Whitton Summers). It's a show that's a little bit country and whole lot of holiday Rock n' Roll!

At Ripley's Aquarium, you will feel like you are walking into an indoor and under the sea Christmas village with their Festival of Trees! With 50 trees uniquely decorated with one for each state in the U.S., the aquarium glistens and glows this time of year!

Next to Ripley's Aquarium in Heroes Harbor, you can stop by for a photo op at our new Santa's House. Take a selfie or snap a shot with friends and family and make a memory to post on your favorite social media account! Be sure to use #AVeryBroadwayChristmas when posting and you may see your pictures shared on our Facebook and Instagram!

There's plenty of ways to enjoy the countdown to Christmas and the holiday season at Broadway and we haven't even talked about our favorite holiday pastime yet, shopping! Help Santa fill up the area under the tree this year and shop Broadway for this season's latest trends and unique gifts that will please the grinchiest of your guests!

So whether it's with your favorite holiday characters or a cozy evening with family and loved ones or a hot holiday date with your significant other, you can eat, drink and be merrily entertained all December long with us at Broadway!

Our Silver Anniversary: Join Us For The 25th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration At Broadway at the Beach

When it comes to anniversary gifts, there's the custom that each year has it's own theme when it comes to gift giving. For example, the 1st anniversary is paper, the 5th anniversary is wood, the 10th is tin or aluminum and so on. So there's a silver lining to this year's annual tree lighting celebration at Broadway at the Beach as this is our 25th Annual event! Hence, it's our silver anniversary!

This year's 25th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration will kick off the holiday season in Myrtle Beach as we light our tree on Friday, November 22nd! And we're not talking about a simple countdown to the lighting of a simple tree, we go all out with an entertaining show featuring local and regional talents with musical guests, dancers and more. Plus, you may even see a few guests all the way from the North Pole… and we aren't just talking about this year's emcee, WPDE's Chief Meteorologist Ed Piotrowski and Good Morning Carolina's anchor Crystal Costa! It's the Grand Strand's kickoff to Christmas!

And the tree? Located in Center Court, between It'Sugar and Build-A-Bear Workshop, the 46 feet tall tree with 14,500 RGB LED Lights will dazzle you and will also feature a music and light show occurring every 30 minutes throughout the holiday season from 4pm – 9pm daily!

Plus, on tree lighting night, stick around and enjoy a Fireworks Extravaganza over Lake Broadway at 8pm!

So join us as we light up Broadway in more ways than one for this year's 25th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration! And PS, no need to worry about any 25th anniversary gifts for us under the tree, instead you can make a donation all season long through our Toys for Tots partnership with the Marine Corps Reserve and bring a new unwrapped toy and drop in the boxes located at Guest Services! The season shines brighter at Broadway at the Beach!

Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall Weather… Enjoy Them All (And Possibly Within One Day) at Broadway at the Beach

It's that time of year when the hardest decision of the day is what to wear when the temperatures rise and fall on not just a daily basis, but even on an hourly basis. Whether it's cool, crisp mornings, or the warm sun beaming down during our drive home from work, it's safe to say what we wear and even what we do is dependent on the forecast!

So if our day is anything like the meme above, here's how we will not only dress accordingly, but enjoy accordingly at Broadway at the Beach:

Winter Chill: Start out your morning with a hearty and hot breakfast at Paula Deen's Family Kitchen where you can fill up on all your comfort food favorites including pancakes, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, bacon and that all important cup of coffee! It's the type of meal that will warm you up and fill you up all morning long!

Spring Time Temps: It's not chilly, but still not swimsuit weather, but it's the perfect time to do some shopping for your favorites. From the trendy fashions of Gemini Boutique and Bijuju to your surfing favorites at Tsunami Surf Shop and Ron Jon Surf Shop, you can stroll through Broadway and peruse through today's latest and seasonal fashions in the comfortable cool breezes!

Summer Sizzle: The heat of summer making a midday comeback? A milkshake from Johnny Rockets or ice cream from any of our lite bite eateries may make you sweetly enjoy the rising temperatures even more. Not one for sweating while wearing your sweater and leggings? Ripley's Aquarium, WonderWorks and Dave & Buster's will be a great place to beat the heat and enjoy games and indoor experiences.

Fall Is In The Air: Similar to spring, it's that in between season where we find ourselves bundling up in the mornings and taking off the layers by mid-afternoon. This is the perfect time of year to watch football with friends at your favorite restaurant at Broadway, indulge in those pumpkin spice flavors of our ice cream shops and when the temperatures are just right, it's the time to walk around and enjoy a beautiful sunset overlooking Lake Broadway.

So whether the meteorologists are calling for hot, cold or one of those days in between, you can experience and enjoy them all at Broadway at the Beach!

September Food Holidays: Broadway at the Beach Has Your Cravings Covered

Posted in Broadway at the Beach, Featured Posts, Dining

It's no longer summer, but not quite fall… we are packing away the beachwear, but not ready to unpack the holiday décor. It's September, that limbo month between soaring temperatures and autumn breezes where we trade in those carefree beach ball games and duke it out with our friends in fantasy football. It's the month where we see the return of pumpkin spice everything, our favorite flannels and for some of us, our back to school/carpool routines.

Even though the holidays are still a few months away, there's a few holidays this September we can all celebrate, Food Holidays!

A few of our favorites?

September 15th: National Double Cheeseburger Day

There are a plethora of palate pleasing places to bite into a delicious double cheeseburger at Broadway! From Hard Rock Café, Wahlburgers, Bar Louie, Dave & Buster's, Johnny Rockets, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville to The Grumpy Monk, the list goes on and on! Just want a Cheeseburger? A few days later on September 18th, you can visit your favorite burger spot again or try a new one on National Cheeseburger Day! (Click here to find your perfect burger place!)

September 22nd: National Ice Cream Cone Day

After all those savory bites, you're going to want to indulge your sweet tooth during National Ice Cream Day on September 22nd! From Kilwins, Ben & Jerry's, Sweet Molly's Creamery and Cold Stone Creamery, you can taste the sweet side of Broadway! For those 21 & older, Tipsy Scoop inside It'Sugar will cure any sweet (and boozy) cravings at Broadway!

There's some other honorable mentions during September's food holidays including National Cheese Pizza Day on September 5th (Yes, it has already passed, but you can celebrate it every day at Extreme Pizza), National Key Lime Pie Day on September 26th where you can treat yourself to the tangy dessert at Landry's Seafood or Joe's Crab Shack and National Drink A Beer Day on September 28 where you can enjoy at any of your favorite Broadway restaurants!

So as we are looking forward to the holidays to come and as we say goodbye to summer 2019, you can celebrate food holidays in between during this month at Broadway at the Beach!
