Sweet Sixteen: KidzTime Festival

Posted in Broadway at the Beach, Special Events

"Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity." ~Kay Redfield Jamison

Ahh… to be young again. We've all said it and in the midst of our daily responsibility routine of going to meetings, grocery shopping, carpooling, tee ball game attending and homework helping, we mean it! We long for the days of being a carefree kid again. However, on Saturday, February 25th, you and your little one can enjoy a day of kid friendly fun including live entertainment, interactive games and more at the 16th Annual KidzTime Festival at Broadway.

From feeding goats and llamas, to riding ponies and a train to jumping in bounce houses, your little one can run, jump and play from 11am-4pm.

Spinning his way into the festival tent from 11am -3:30pm is Marvel Comics Superhero Spiderman. His thrilling special visit will give kids an opportunity to get up close and personal with the comic book and movie hero. Outside the tent, community heroes from the Myrtle Beach Fire Department and the Myrtle Beach Police Department will allow your little one to experience what it's like to get behind the wheel of a fire truck and patrol car!

Before and after getting a picture with Spiderman and our community heroes, children can participate in a variety of kid-friendly games and interactive activities. A stage inside a large, circus-style tent will be the place to see live performances provided by Broadway at the Beach and WBTW featured emcee, Matt Gittins, including the NOIZ drumline from Christ United, Carolina Vocals, martial arts and gymnastic displays and even a knighting by Medieval Times!

New this year, we're giving away prizes every half hour beginning at noon with our Grand Prize featuring tickets to Legends in Concert, Myrtle Waves Water Park, WonderWorks and more! Just make sure you visit the Broadway at the Beach booth to be entered for your chance to win!

So bring the family and we'll supply the fun at the 16th Annual KidzTime Festival located in parking lot 17, next to Pavilion Park West and WonderWorks, on the 21st Avenue North side of the property.

See you there!

Blues, Gospel & Rock and Roll: The King Lives at Broadway at the Beach

What is your favorite type of music?

Who is your favorite musical artist?

What station is your car radio tuned to?

It's safe to say if you were to ask these three simple questions to 100 people, you would easily receive 100 different responses.

Some may be more partial to a country twang or a riveting rock rift, while others may want a rhythm to move their feet to. Whether they prefer the soothing, smoky sound of the blues, powerful gospel ballads or rocking out with their air guitar, there is one LEGEND that is likely to have influenced them all. A musical icon, he was one of the first to transcend genres, show off signature moves and introduce us to a little something called Rock and Roll. If you haven't already guessed it, we're talking about the man, the legend… the King, Elvis Presley.

Now, forty years after his death and in honor of what would have been Presley's 82nd birthday, Legends in Concert invites you to take a trip through his iconic career and life with ELVIS LIVES, "THE ULTIMATE ELVIS TRIBUTE ARTIST EVENT." The sixth annual ELVIS LIVES tour returns to Myrtle Beach from Graceland for the kick off of its 2017 touring season. Beginning Friday, January 6th, the three day ELVIS LIVES event is a journey across Elvis' life featuring winners and finalists from the Elvis Presley Enterprise annual worldwide Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, each representing Elvis during his four eras: the 1950s, 1960s, his movie career and concert years. It's a show for Elvis fans of yesteryear and today as it gives us a glimpse of how one man changed the face, dance moves and the sounds of music forever.

As you plan the first official weekend of 2017, why not add a little nostalgia to your night out, or just join your fellow Elvis groupies and have a night you'll never want to forget!

So if you ain't nothing' but a hound dog and are a little lonesome tonight but you can't help falling in love, don't head to the heartbreak hotel, but instead grab your blue suede shoes, get all shook up and enjoy a night where Elvis Lives once again at Legends in Concert at Broadway at the Beach.
