Broadway Uncorks Fun To Celebrate The End Of The Summer Season

It's hard to believe that the unofficial end of summer is just a few days away. Here in Myrtle Beach, we'll be enjoying warm and sunny days for months to come. But with the kids back in school and thoughts turning to football, the 2016 summer season will come to a close as the Labor Day holiday is celebrated.

As we wave good-bye to summer 2016, we still have a lot to look forward to.

Broadway at the Beach will still be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Sunday, before transitioning on September 5 to its September hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday through Sunday).

And there's more good news: Summer's last blast at Broadway will be one of the biggest events of the season with lots of entertainment, food, wine, craft beer and even moonshine.

From Friday through Sunday (September 2 to 4) Broadway will be the site of the annual Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine & Spirits Festival. Overflowing with great entertainment and some of the best dishes from Myrtle Beach's very active culinary scene, this event is one of the most-anticipated festivals in the Carolinas. It's where you'll rub shoulders with talented chefs, happy visitors and your neighbors as you sample great food, interesting wines, full-bodied brews and unusual spirits.

This year's festival will be held near the Broadway Guest Services Center on the 21st Avenue side of Broadway at the Beach, adjacent to Pavilion Park Central. It kicks off on Friday at 6 p.m. with the popular "Chocolate Under The Moon" event. Imagine decadent desserts. Enjoy the friendly competition of local bartenders participating in a mixology challenge and concocting their own special moonshine cocktails for ticket holders to sample. Against the backdrop of live music playing until 9 p.m., you could be the deciding vote that crowns the best moonshine mixologist in all of Myrtle Beach.
Moving on from moonshine, the next day features beer. Check out the Brews 'N the Beach Craft Beer Event on Saturday, September 3 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sample rare, specialty one-off and craft beers from all over the country in your own souvenir tasting glass, while listening to live music and munching on more delicious foods.

When Sunday rolls around, it's time to return to Broadway for the popular Grand Wine Tasting event. Under a big tent, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., you can go from table to table with your own souvenir wine glass, sampling a variety of wines from all over the country. You'll also have the opportunity to savor a Boar's Head Brand sample platter while enjoying more live musical entertainment.

At 10 p.m. the 2016 summer season will close with a bang, as Broadway's skies light up with the last official summer fireworks display.
