Big And Small, Broadway Has A Park For All

If you love strolling around a lakeside park, watching the happy faces of children splashing in a fountain, experiencing the fun of seeing your toddler enjoying a kiddie ride, or seeking your own extreme thrills, Broadway at the Beach is the place for you.

This entertainment complex is built for relaxing and having fun. Stroll on wide paths that wind among distinctive shops, restaurants and attractions. Walk around the lake and stop on the bridges to feed the colorful ducks and hungry fish that make Lake Broadway their home.

Throughout Broadway, you'll discover the nostalgia and thrills of family entertainment rides in Pavilion Parks East, Central and West.

At Pavilion Park East, you'll be transported back to those lazy, hazy days of summer when you headed to the amusement park to ride the Caterpillar and Rocket. The whole family will enjoy the famous Herschell-Spillman Carousel with its hand-carved, hand-painted animals. Unlike many traditional carousels that showcase only horses, this historic carousel features many different animals, including frogs, lions, ostriches, zebras, giraffes, roosters and more.

Pavilion Park West is just right for your smallest ones. They can ride a train, hop on a frog and even soar through the sky on a balloon ride. And they won't want to miss the Myrtle Turtle tot-size roller coaster.

Pavilion Park Central is where thrill-seekers go to experience extreme rides with cool names like the Cliff Hanger and Speed. The Wave Swinger takes riders high into the air and out over the crowds below, while the Giant Slide zooms riders down the largest dry slide on the East Coast.

In addition to those three parks, there are other outdoor attractions to experience throughout Broadway. There's a Play Park overlooking the lake, with three-play areas perfect for school age and pre-school age children, picnic-style seating, and a few friendly ducks ready to enjoy an afternoon with you.

The Interactive Fountain by the BigD theater features dancing and jumping water jets to splash in. Soar and Explore by WonderWorks invites all to climb a rope course and zip over the lake.

From small amusements to multi-attraction parks, Broadway has a park that's sure to delight you!

National Carousel Day: Come Celebrate A Childhood Classic At Broadway

There's just something about carousels that brings out the kid in everyone. Maybe it's the magical animals or the whimsical music.

Carousels have brought so much joy to both children and adults that we set aside a day each year simply to celebrate these marvelous inventions. July 25 is National Carousel Day.

Broadway at the Beach is home to two carousels, one located at Pavilion Park East and one located at Pavilion Park West. Our Morgan-Chance carousel stands in Pavilion Park East near WonderWorks. Made in the 1980s, this carousel charms kids and parents alike with its ornate decorations, mirrored center, and joyful music.

The Pavilion Park West features one of only 15 working Herschell-Spillman carousels in the country. Crafted during the "golden age of carousels," it dates back to 1912. Although many traditional carousels focus on horses and chariots, Herschell-Spillman craftsman weren't just horsing around. Our Pavilion Park West carousel contains a variety of hand-painted animals including frogs, lions, ostriches, giraffes, zebras, and roosters. Each animal is hand-carved out of wood and has real glass eyes. And you'll want to be sure and get a glimpse of the frogs dressed in human clothing.

This year, celebrate National Carousel Day with Broadway at the Beach. Go back in time with our Herschell-Spillman carousel or enjoy our modern marvel, the Morgan-Chance carousel. While our carousels operate almost every day of the year, July 25 is a perfect day to bring the family to Broadway so that everyone can saddle up, pick their favorite animal, and experience an American treasure that is spectacular enough to have its own day.
