Fundraising Events in April
Several events and activities are planned throughout the month of April at Broadway at the Beach including three charity based events with local ties to the community. The 3rd Annual Matt Harper Scholarship Walk, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, and Habitat for Humanity of Horry County's 2nd Annual Bed Race will all take place at Broadway at the Beach.
3rd Annual Matt Harper Scholarship Walk
April 5
Registration 8:30 a.m.
Walk 9:00 a.m.
After Party 10:00 a.m.
Proceeds to benefit the Coastal Network Cooperative Scholarship Endowment in memory of Matt Harper at Coastal Carolina University. Registration and after party take place at WonderWorks and the walk is throughout Broadway at the Beach.
American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Myrtle Beach/South Strand
April 11
7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Organized, overnight community fundraising walk includes local teams of people camping out, taking turns walking around the track with food, games and other family-friendly entertainment. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society and are used for research and other cancer patient programs such as Road To Recovery, Look Good…Feel Better, Reach To Recovery, and Hope Lodge.
Habitat for Humanity of Horry County's 2nd Annual Bed Race
April 12
Registration 9:00 a.m.
Race 10:00 a.m.
Five-person teams are tasked with designing and building a bed that they will then race in two team heats with four runners and one rider. Proceeds from the event will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Horry County.
