Renowned Independent Film Festival Returns To Broadway This April

Movie makers and film fans are heading to Broadway at the Beach this month for the 11th Annual Myrtle Beach International Film Festival (MBIFF) at Carmike Cinemas, April 20-23, 2016.

The East Coast's answer to the Sundance Film Festival, MBIFF has an international reputation for screening outstanding feature and short films from up-and-coming filmmakers. Film International ranks MBIFF as one of the best film festivals in the world, and MovieMaker Magazine has MBIFF on its list of the Top 25 "film festivals to submit to."

Many of the films this year feature actors familiar for roles in some of the top television and box office successes, including Bruce Davison (X-Men, Last Resort), Peri Gilpin (Frasier, CSI), Janine Turner (Northern Exposure, Friday Night Lights) and Melissa Leo (Wayward Pines, The Big Short).

With many of the filmmakers planning to be in attendance, the festival provides a unique opportunity to ask questions about their films through organized Q & A sessions.

You can sample some of the films for just $10, which gets you an individual ticket for a two-hour block of screenings. Devoted film fans can see all the films and attend the social events that are part of the festival for the price of an All Access Pass ($50). Tickets are not available at the Carmike Box Office. For this special festival, please visit myrtlebeachfilmfestival.com or call 843-497-0220.

There's no better time of year to go to Broadway at the Beach for dinner and a movie. You might even meet a celebity or two along the way.
