Myrtle Beach's Broadway at the Beach, a shopping, dining and entertainment destination, is celebrating the Independence Day holiday with a variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy.

Broadway's annual Summer Nights entertainment series continues throughout the Independence Day holiday week, and features a full slate of free nightly entertainment. On July 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6, guests will be treated to musical performances on the Heroes Harbor stage, located next to Margaritaville, by Next Level Showcase Productions from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. July 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, it's a sing along and dance party in Center Court with Mr. Nigel beginning at 7 p.m., with the exception of July 5 when the show begins at 8 p.m. July 1 through 7 enjoy Over the Moon Productions' sensational, costumed stilt walkers strolling the Avenue 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and their mesmerizing fire dancers from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., also on The Avenue. Face painters will join the fun, offering free face painting for the kids, July 1 and 7 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Center Court, plus characters from The Character Company will be on hand to meet, greet and take photos on July 1 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

On Wednesday, July 4, the party band PaperWork will get the Independence Day holiday evening started with a performance from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on The Avenue. During this time guests can purchase patriotic themed party favors, hats, etc., from Party Heroes who will be set up on The Avenue. Then at 10 p.m., Broadway at the Beach will cap off the evening with a Star-Spangled Fireworks Extravaganza over the lake, sponsored by Helicopter Adventures. The July 4th fireworks show is in addition to the regularly scheduled shows on Tuesday, July 3 and Friday, July 6, both at 10 p.m.
