Fly High And Get A Bird’s Eye View Of Myrtle Beach

Posted in Attractions

Ever wish you could get a true bird's eye view of Myrtle Beach? Spring is the picture-perfect time of year to get a look at Myrtle Beach from high above. The trees are flowering, golf courses are sparkling emerald green, the sandy beaches are uncrowded, and there are spectacular views of blue-green ocean waves lapping on the shore.

It's easy to go up, up and away for the ride of your life right from Broadway at the Beach. Helicopter Adventures offers several scenic tours that climb high above some of the most awesome scenery along the Grand Strand. The introductory two-mile tour will astound you when you see Lake Broadway and the Pelicans Stadium from above. Even more picturesque aerial views are served up on longer tours that carry you over Pine Lakes Country Club, Grande Dunes Golf Course, and Barefoot Landing — all the way to the North Carolina/South Carolina state line.

While you soar through the air with friends, your professional pilot provides an overview of the sites through your high-tech headset, and answers any questions that you have. And, because every seat is a window seat with panoramic views from the cockpit, you get an unparalleled opportunity to video or photograph your own memorable shots from the air.

It's just minutes to the heli-pad at Helicopter Adventures via a free shuttle at Broadway at the Beach. So isn't it time you buckled up, put a headset on, and got a bird's eye view of Myrtle Beach from the ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway?

Imaginations Run Wild At WonderWorks

Posted in Attractions

Did you know that Broadway at the Beach is home to the only WonderWorks in the Carolinas?

The "upside down house" on the southwestern side of Lake Broadway is one of the coolest landmarks in Myrtle Beach. But it wasn't even there when Broadway at the Beach opened.

Legend has it that WonderWorks was carried on the wind over thousands of miles before landing in Myrtle Beach. It began as a secret science laboratory deep in the Bermuda Triangle. There, a great scientist named Professor Wonder labored at creating a man-made tornado. But his experiment failed terribly, causing the building to be torn from its moorings and transported by the force of an uncontrollable wind. Its journey ended where it stands today, and it became home to over 100 interactive, hands-on exhibits.

WonderWorks is the one place where you can experience the fury of a category 1 hurricane and emerge without a scratch. You can impress your friends by laying safely on a bed of 3,500 sharp nails. And you can shake, rattle and scream while on a hair-raising, realistic ride through spectacular virtual scenery, courtesy of the XD Theater 6D Extreme Motion-Simulated Thrill Ride's 3D films, special effects, full motion seats and surround sound.

There's even a place for a little competitive Lazer-Tag inside a cavernous 2,100 square foot high-tech action center. And this year a new WonderWorks Kids Zone is being added to entertain younger family members.

There are only five WonderWorks in the entire world and it's one of the many attractions that make Broadway at the Beach a very special place to visit.

Summertime = Swimsuit Season

Posted in Shopping, Attractions, Dining

Oh No It's Swimwear Season!

Its summer and everyone wants to hit the beach or the pool, but for many of us choosing the right swimwear can be a daunting task, do you go with the two-piece or the one piece, do you actually plan to go swimming or just splash around, what is going to be comfortable, and so on. Not every swimsuit is going to flatter everyone, but with so many styles to choose from the right suit is out there and waiting for you! Of course, it's all in what you are comfortable with and to help get you started here are a few suggestions:

For the fuller figure, look for swimwear that highlights your curves. Halters, cup styles and those styles that bring in the waist are always a good place to start.

The use of ruffles to the top half, creating more volume is a great trick for pear shapes with a small bust. In addition, cupped styles and padding will assist in creating the look of curves.

Ruffles added to the bottom are good for top heavy figures, doing so gives balance to the hips with your bust. You will however want to avoid any swimwear that doesn't offer support, and stay with more structured styles and halters.

Looking to lengthen your body? If you are into the two-piece style try pairing a printed top with a colored bottom. This will bring attention upwards. Another idea suitable for both two-piece and one piece styles is swimwear with high cut thighs.

Want to show off your toned physique? Backless styles and crochet are for you and will definitely make the right statement.

The main thing to remember is to not be intimated when shopping for swimwear, we all have something we are dealing with and no one has the perfect body! And if you are unsure where to go, Broadway at the Beach has several retail shops ready to help you in finding your perfect swimsuit match; tooQt, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Tsunami Surf Shop and Tango Bay Clothing, just to name a few.
