Retro Active is Celebrating Sweet Sixteen with Rock & Roller

They'll be giveaways, they'll be cake and there will be Ron Keel!

Retro Active, Broadway at the Beach's premier shop featuring the best of the 70s, 80s and 90s music, movies and more is turning 16 on Saturday, July 31st.

Before we fast forward to the celebration, Retro Active's Owner rewinds us back to the beginning of how the rock shop came to be. ""The idea of the store began forming back in 2004 when Motley Crue reunited and went on tour. I wished that I still had all the shirts I had bought at the shows back in the 80s (and paid $8-$10 for!!). I began looking around for stores to buy a Motley Crue shirt...there just weren't any. From music shirts, we expanded on the idea to include all those cool things we had in the 80s, along with the TV shows and the awesome movies. On January 1, 2005, I got laid off from the job I moved here for and decided that now was the perfect time to make the dream a reality. We opened May 2, 2005."

Now years later, Retro Active welcomes multi-million-selling singer, musician, songwriter and performer, Ron Keel for its sweet 16 celebration. The rocker has toured with icons like Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Aerosmith and many more! From Noon – 3pm and then again from 6pm – 8pm, on July 31st, the multi-talented artist will be performing acoustic sets, signing autographs, taking pictures and even raffling off an autographed air guitar.

In addition to celebrating the BIG day with Ron Keel, fans can enjoy cake, raffles and rock, plus tastings of Gene Simmons Money Bags Soda and more.

So for the love of music, movies, memorabilia and memories, be sure to visit Retro Active and don't forget to stop by for their Sweet 16 on Saturday, July 31st celebrating another year of rock and roll at Broadway at the Beach!

Toys To squeeze Or Cars That Speed: Create Memories & More at Broadway

As parents, there's one thing we can count on when we give a child a new toy.

One, they love and adore it. Or, two, they dislike and ignore it.

So how do you avoid the game of hit or miss with your little one? At Broadway at the Beach, we have two experiential shops where your little one can not only choose their new toy, but also create it and personalize it: Build-A-Bear Workshop and RIDEMAKERZ.

At Build-A-Bear Workshop, whether it's a soft bear or lovable lama or other furry friends, there are plenty of options to build their new cuddly companion! But it's not just about selecting the new plush playmate, it's also about interacting with each step of the Build-A-Bear process while choosing which accessories go best with their new best friend. Let your tiny tots pick the outfit from colorful clothes to swanky shoes and adding their own unique touch!

Another option at Broadway where your mini-me can create a toy all their very own is RIDEMAKERZ! The toy car customizing experience where kids 4 to 104 can build their perfect "ridez". From sports cars and monster trucks to their favorite superhero themed vehicle, they can select a fast lane favorite and build their new supped' up speeder!

So instead of playing the toy version of hit or miss with the kiddos, next time make it Broadway at the Beach and let them pick and trick out their own personal creations!

If you haven't already noticed, Valentine's Day is upon us. From the V-Day cards, heart-shaped candies and the yearly "seal it with a kiss and a nice piece of jewelry" commercials, the anticipation of February 14th continues to grow. Some may think it's a day just for those with a significant other. But at Broadway at the Beach, whether you're in a pair, or with a group of your favorite gal pals or best bros or wanting to enjoy it alone, Broadway has you covered for a night in or out on the town this Valentine's Day!

Let's start with those staying in. What better way is there to enjoy a night binge watching our favorite shows than with pizza and ice cream? Whether you're a classic cheese and pepperoni type or you like to change things up a bit, Extreme Pizza is the place to dine in or in this case, carry out. While at Broadway, you can also grab your favorite cold creations at Cold Stone Creamery where you can mix in exactly what you want!

For the couple looking for a romantic evening, a night of fine dining is in order at Landry's Seafood where a special Valentine's Weekend dinner menu will be featured. Choose from Crab Stuffed Mahi or surf and turf and other chef creations to indulge in an elegant atmosphere, perfect for a low key, but high quality date night. After dinner, take a short stroll down the walkway to Kilwins and pick up a few chocolate covered strawberries and gourmet confections to end the evening on a sweet note!

Looking for a place to enjoy with the group? Sit around the table and enjoy hibachi and drinks at Yamatos Japanese Steakhouse where your dinner is prepared right before your eyes with incredible chef precision. It's a delicious dinner and show all in one! After dinner, your group can take a short walk to It'Sugar to grab a few sweet (and sometimes, sour) treats for the ride home!

For a Galentine's get together, grab your shopping shoes and enjoy sidewalk sales all weekend. Treat yourself with fashion and stylish finds from some of your favorite shops including Bijuju and Gemini Boutique! After a day of shopping, you and the girls can enjoy an evening of fresh sushi, hand crafted burgers and eclectic dishes at The Grumpy Monk. Featuring a variety of specialty brews and unique chews, it's a great place to sit down and chow down on the latest gossip with your girlfriends!

For the gentlemen, your weekend can tee off early in the day or after dark at TopGolf. Make it a relaxing evening with the guys or as competitive as you like every time you take a swing. The evening doesn't have to end there. After golf, make your way to The Avenue and Dave & Buster's where you can grab some grub, watch the games on the big screens and continue your winning or losing streaks with the boys!

However you're celebrating Valentine's weekend, with your loved one or with your friends, you can always find something to love at Broadway at the Beach!
