Broadway Uncorks Fun To Celebrate The End Of The Summer Season

It's hard to believe that the unofficial end of summer is just a few days away. Here in Myrtle Beach, we'll be enjoying warm and sunny days for months to come. But with the kids back in school and thoughts turning to football, the 2016 summer season will come to a close as the Labor Day holiday is celebrated.

As we wave good-bye to summer 2016, we still have a lot to look forward to.

Broadway at the Beach will still be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Sunday, before transitioning on September 5 to its September hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday through Sunday).

And there's more good news: Summer's last blast at Broadway will be one of the biggest events of the season with lots of entertainment, food, wine, craft beer and even moonshine.

From Friday through Sunday (September 2 to 4) Broadway will be the site of the annual Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine & Spirits Festival. Overflowing with great entertainment and some of the best dishes from Myrtle Beach's very active culinary scene, this event is one of the most-anticipated festivals in the Carolinas. It's where you'll rub shoulders with talented chefs, happy visitors and your neighbors as you sample great food, interesting wines, full-bodied brews and unusual spirits.

This year's festival will be held near the Broadway Guest Services Center on the 21st Avenue side of Broadway at the Beach, adjacent to Pavilion Park Central. It kicks off on Friday at 6 p.m. with the popular "Chocolate Under The Moon" event. Imagine decadent desserts. Enjoy the friendly competition of local bartenders participating in a mixology challenge and concocting their own special moonshine cocktails for ticket holders to sample. Against the backdrop of live music playing until 9 p.m., you could be the deciding vote that crowns the best moonshine mixologist in all of Myrtle Beach.
Moving on from moonshine, the next day features beer. Check out the Brews 'N the Beach Craft Beer Event on Saturday, September 3 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sample rare, specialty one-off and craft beers from all over the country in your own souvenir tasting glass, while listening to live music and munching on more delicious foods.

When Sunday rolls around, it's time to return to Broadway for the popular Grand Wine Tasting event. Under a big tent, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., you can go from table to table with your own souvenir wine glass, sampling a variety of wines from all over the country. You'll also have the opportunity to savor a Boar's Head Brand sample platter while enjoying more live musical entertainment.

At 10 p.m. the 2016 summer season will close with a bang, as Broadway's skies light up with the last official summer fireworks display.

For more details on the 2016 Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine and Spirits Festival or to buy advance discounted tickets by August 31, click here. After that date, tickets for individual events will be available on site.

Calling All Pizza Lovers: Discover Extreme Pizza Myrtle Beach

Extreme Pizza

Do you consider yourself a pizza connoisseur? Are you always on the hunt for a great pizza — even the perfect pizza?

Do you get excited by the thought of a fresh-baked pie that tests your palate and takes your taste buds to a whole new level of pizza love?

Then Extreme Pizza is the place for you. And now you can find their first Myrtle Beach store in the heart of Broadway at the Beach.

Created by a founder who grew up eating pizza in New York (home of the slice!), this is one pizza shop that lives up to its name. At Extreme Pizza, they aim to push the pizza-eating experience to a new level. Their handcrafted pizza crust serves as an innovative foundation for extraordinary toppings. The result: pizzas so great they can only be described as gourmet.

There are signature pizzas like the Mont Blanc with its zesty Alfredo sauce, crispy bacon, green onions, and sliced tomatoes; and Hanoi Fever with shredded pork marinated in a spicy hoisin style sauce, and topped with mozzarella, peanuts, green onions, jalapeños, carrots and fresh cilantro. Vegan pizzas include Pandora's Box with spinach, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, oregano and daiya vegan cheese. Or choose your own spices, veggies, meats, fruits and cheeses to top specialty sauces that range from tomato to hummus to black bean and salsa and more.

But pizza is only the half of it. Healthy eaters can choose from an array of salads, from the Ravin' Arugula to the extreme Spinach salad with artichoke hearts, candied walnuts and caramelized onions added to the usual mushrooms and tomatoes.

Bite into some ooey, gooey calzones or try a Monster Sub, choosing from healthy to hearty with options like The Fear Factor, with spiced ham, salami, provolone, roasted red peppers and caramelized onions, to The Cruz, with shredded pork, BBQ sauce, red onions, cilantro, and cheddar.

Add wings, fried mozzarella, sweet potato fries and finish it off with dessert. Extreme Pizza is made with the freshest ingredients. They even offer gluten-free selections.

Led by a founder who loves extreme sports almost as much as creating awesome pies, Extreme Pizza hasn't hesitated to charge into some of the most discriminating (make that pickiest) pizza-eating towns in America and set up shop.

And now they've brought their gourmet pizza here. On Celebrity Circle. At Broadway at the Beach.

At Extreme Pizza, you'll find food combinations originated by people who snowboarded before there were snowboards, sail from kites whenever an opportunity comes up, and always, always color outside the lines.

So gather up your friends and family and take your taste buds to new extremes.

Eat in. Take out. Have it delivered. Or take one home and bake it yourself. Because Extreme Pizza is not just making remarkable pizzas. They're creating adventures.

Are you ready to go Extreme?
