Each year, vacationers pour into Myrtle Beach for their summer getaways. Fourteen million of them make a least one trip during their vacation to Broadway at the Beach. In a recent survey, we asked our visitors to tell us the top 5 reasons that they love Broadway, and we found some interesting comments on TripAdvisor too.

Number 5: Broadway's free fireworks shows are the best in town. Every Tuesday and Friday night throughout the summer, we stage a fireworks spectacular that lights up the sky.

Number 4: There's exciting nightlife at Broadway at the Beach. From the clubs in Celebrity Square to interactive juggling acts, kid's musical shows, and cool bands, Broadway offers "party spots, entertainment, and plenty to do for all ages," says a TripAdvisor reviewer. Broadway at the Beach is open from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. everyday throughout the summer. And, every Tuesday, there's a spectacular fireworks display over Lake Broadway at 10 p.m. Starting June 20, there are also fireworks on Friday evenings.

May is National Hamburger Month, a great time to celebrate and enjoy the juicy sandwich that we love. With the possible exception of the hot dog, no other food defines American summers.

If you've ever wondered just who invented this awesome comfort food, you're not alone. Perhaps we'll never know for sure. The U.S. Library of Congress says Louis Lassen invented the hamburger in New Haven, Conn., in 1900. But other states have laid claim to the invention including Wisconsin, Oklahoma, California, Ohio, New York and (of course) Texas.

But one thing's for sure. If you're looking for a great burger, you don't have to go any farther than Myrtle Beach. Broadway at the Beach is home to Johnny Rockets and "The Original Hamburger." That's the one-third pound burger that started it all for the restaurant in 1986. Rockets even has a cheeseburger that diners rate a 12 on a scale of 1 to 10!

If you like a little entertainment with your food, Rockets is the burger joint for you. The waitstaff of this 1950s-style diner will break into a song and dance routine when the music moves them.
